Azalea Hotels & Residences in Boracay is set to open in 2014.
The 5,700-suqare meter development is the Azalea group’s latest venture in the hotel and vacation club business.
Aside from letting travelers enjoy the Boracay property’s amenities like pools, bars, and restaurants, Azalea members will also have access to Azalea’s existing hotel in Baguio, and future developments in Davao, Mactan, and Clark.
The Azalea group offers membership shares, which is a pioneering concept in the local hospitality industry.
For a set amount, a membership share will afford a member perpetual vacation rights to Azalea’s lineup of hotels, allowing members to enjoy accommodations for a set number of days per year.
“We’ve taken the notion of traditional vacation club shares—which usually grant privileges for about 20 to 30 years—and removed the expiry date so members can enjoy it for as long as they desire,” said Dulah Lipardo, president and chief operating officer of Azalea Hotels & Residences. “The shares are transferable, and can even be passed from generation to generation.”
Through Azalea Residences’ affiliation in Resort Condominium International (RCI), members can also enjoy around 4,000 partner resorts worldwide.
“Membership shares are also ideal for guaranteeing low-priced accommodations in destinations that are difficult to book,” said Lipardo, adding that popular locations like Boracay have no lean months —- only peak and super peak seasons. “It’s like owning the rights to a place whenever you need it.”
Aside from guaranteed stays, owners of Azalea membership shares also get to enjoy discounts in various shops, tours, spas, restaurants, and other services offered by the Azalea chain of hotels.
The Azalea chain of hotels is one of the major brands of the 8990 Housing Development Corp. (8990 HDC), which has major developments geared towards bolstering the tourism and hospitality industry in the country.
Aside from the Azalea hotels, 8990 HDC also owns and operates two cable wakeboard parks — Deca Wake Park Davao and Deca Wake Park Clark — — which are both integrated into residential communities under the Deca Homes brand.
